Computing

At Holywell, we understand that technology is fundamental to modern life and therefore being fluent in the use and understanding of technology is crucial to our children's success. Additionally, we understand that use of the Internet poses a number of potential harms that children must be taught to navigate safely.

We are fortunate to have a specialist computing teacher who teaches computing across Y1-Y6. Each class has a weekly computing lessons covering the key aspects of programming, online safety, digital literacy and understanding technology. In addition to weekly computing lessons, we have a rolling programme of assemblies that reinforce key messages around online safety and keeping safe whilst using technology, and online safety also forms a part of our PSHE curriculum.

Below you can find key documents relating to our computing curriculum, including our curriculum overview and the computing programme of study from the National Curriculum.

Key links that will support you to keep your child safe online can also be found on the safeguarding page of our website under the 'Key Info' tab.
