Active @ Holywell

Tournaments and Festivals

At Holywell we are part of the Hunts School Sports Partnership (HSSP) who provide a fantastic number of tournaments and festivals for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children.

These include: Cricket, Football, Netball, Multi-sports, Dance, Tennis, Tag Rugby, Basketball, Panathlon, Gymnastics, Hockey, Orienteering, Tri-Golf and Athletics.

It is our aim for each child at Holywell to represent the school during their time here.

Clubs

Holywell School offers a range of free sports clubs, both at lunchtime and afterschool:

Active Lunchtimes

We believe it is important to offer children the chance to be active during their lunchtime.  Our Young Leaders from Year 6 provide the children a safe space to play with different types of equipment, with the focus being on inclusivity and fun whilst being active.

We also have the Scrapstore Playpod which has recycled items such as tyres, dressing up clothes, crutches, crates, ropes, soft toys and tubes.  The playpod provides the children with opportunities to be creative and to develop the life-skills of sharing and co-operation.

Move and Thrive

Every term we hold an event called ‘Move and Thrive’.  This event is designed to provide for children with a positive experience of working in a team, being active and having fun together.  It provides variety of fun activities, designed to be inclusive, engaging and confidence-building.
