Healthy School Statement
At Holywell C of E Primary School, we are dedicated to creating a healthy school community that reflects our values, promoting the holistic wellbeing of every child. Our commitment to health and wellbeing is centred around our school’s Christian ethos: flowing, strengthening, and deepening.
Flowing: We believe that health should flow seamlessly into all aspects of school life. Children at Holywell are encouraged to approach their learning, choices and physical activities with a sense of balance and understanding. Through a nurturing and supportive environment, we create opportunities for pupils to build a core foundation for the importance of a healthy life.
Strengthening: We aim to strengthen our pupils both mentally and physically. Our curriculum, and extracurricular opportunities, strengthen our children’s resilience, motivation and attitudes towards choosing a healthy life, as well as the developing fundamental movement skills.
Deepening: We encourage our students to deepen their understanding of their health, and their role in the world. Through supported guidance within the curriculum, reflection on their daily choices, and monitoring participation in physical activity, we help them develop a deeper connection to themselves and others around them. We seek to embed lifelong healthy habits, a commitment to wellbeing, and a sense of responsibility toward one another.
Together, we aim to create a school where every child is empowered to make healthy life choices.
